A structured initiative that equips local professionals to serve as consistent, credible voices in career exploration and workforce development across Hancock County.
Time Required
Minimum Time: 1 Hour Per Year
Maximum Time: The sky’s the limit. Whatever the professional (and their employer if necessary) determines as a good use of time.
Professionals Requested
Raise the Bar welcomes all professionals to join its Career Ambassadors program. Each professional offers unique perspectives, examples, and real-life experience.
Number Needed
Every employer should nominate at least one (1) professional annually.
Given the number of speaker engagements at area schools, RTB seeks 30 ambassadors annually.
Audience
Most Ambassadors will speak to students in grades K-12.
Sometimes colleges and universities may want to add a speaker to their classroom; we can help make those connections.
Preparation and Follow-Up
Complete a brief online registration and training module.
Deliver presentations requiring minimal to no advanced preparation (unless utilizing slides).
Leave professional contact information with the host school for student follow-up.
The Value
Youth and young adults remember the people they meet. Career Ambassadors make sure they remember the profession and how that person made them feel.
