Different advisory boards expect different levels and types of professionals to serve. Some boards require a particular subject matter expert, while others want a senior, C-suite executive to serve. Regardless, advisory boards provide substantial opportunity for anyone at the table to shape business and education collaboration.

Decisions or Influence

Advisory boards tend to be just that — advisory. Therefore, most advisory boards seek employer insights, recommendations, and input rather than decisions. Conversations lead the chair of the advisory board to make changes and/or drive new strategic direction.

Be A Voice At Many Tables

  • Hancock County BAC

    Join this Business Advisory Council (BAC), managed by Raise the Bar, to influence K-12 business and education partnerships.

  • Millstream

    Join one of Millstream’s program advisory committees to guide curriculum impacting high school juniors and seniors.

  • Collegiate Programs

    Join an alma mater or another institution of higher education’s advisory board. Advisory boards may exist at the college/school level and/or at specific program levels.

  • Career Tech

    Millstream is one of several career tech schools in Northwest Ohio. Consider joining program advisory committees at one of the other career tech schools in the region.

  • Business Advisory Councils

    Per the State of Ohio, all K-12 school districts must belong to a business advisory council. Employers should first consider Hancock County’s BAC, but there are numerous other options across the region.
